Background

The Russian Federation is a group of countries the broke up from the former Soviet Union back in the early 1990s. Since then six of these new countries have come under control from hard-liners, with support from groups connected with the communist party in Russia. In 2008 these countries formed an alliance which they have called the Russian Federation, with the primary objective of re-unifying the former USSR and reinsting the deposed communist regime.

Since the establishment of the RF, they have formed a combined army of volunteers. Through the sheer volume of recruits they have been able to form 3 army groups with full strength, and incredible zeal and enthuisam for their cause.

Current Situation

The is continued high levels of tension between the RF and EA because some the EA are former USSR states. This tension often breaks out into small skirmishes, however full scale war between the two very different armies has so far been avoided.

Military Strength

In 2008 the armies of the Russian Federation have taken up Russian tactics and training from 1995, and have been equiped with the latest Russian equipment, from small arms to aircraft and ships. They also have a large naval force. Thanks to Russian financial support their enthusiastic army is well trained, well equiped, and well paid.

Their naval force is also well equipped with suffient aircraft carriers for three large task forces. They also have a large submarine force with nuclear hunter killers. It is believed that the RF have also got serviceable ICBMs left over from the old USSR.

The airforce have up to date MIG planes, with fully trained pilots and ground crew.

Political Situation

Member countries of the RF have also pulled on their combined natural and financial resources, and share oil, gas, electricity, water, coal, gold and other resources. Each country has its own parliment and laws, but have equal votes in the RF parliment that controls the Russian Federations armed forces.
